American Airlines lost my 2 day old Osprey Anthos 65 rucksack and they don't know where in the US it is... if it's still in the US... sucks, I know...

Luckily, no. It just wouldnt detect that the card was there. A bunch of other pins were bent all over the place as well.

Bad news: New tires, front CV joints and alignment on the wife's car and as yet unreplaced flat rear tire on my motorcycle. There's a little bit of good news here, however. A former classmate of my wife owns a motorcycle shop and is going to get me the replacement tire for her cost...

Good news: I was able to replace the front brakes on my truck myself thereby saving $100-$150 in labor charges over a repair shop...

Good news---my husband interviewed with a recruiter for a Tool and Die company in Mt Sterling KY and actually came home excited about work

Bad news -- 3 days later, he lost his job after 18 years due to company downsizing

Good news -- we went to KY, he was offered quite a nice pay (big increase from what he was earning) and we found a brand new house just waiting for us to move into!

Bad news -- We leave behind our 4 oldest children and our 3 grandchildren

SO grateful that my DH found great employment with lots of room for advancement...but so sad we are leaving behind our home of 13 years and our kids and grands.

I tried the hero engineer bit, looks like the focus circuitry fried, new pcb and no idea where to get one. Oh well looks like I can kiss my savings stash for new flash system goodbye.

Bad News: Ordered a 30D and all kinds of toys from B&H to get seriously back into this hobby, and the floods in the Midwest delayed the train the package was on for about 5 days between rerouting and hold times.

Ok News: Box doesn't look any different than anything else I have had delivered from UPS lately... Like a 200 Mastiff with rabies mistaked it for a large rabbit.

Good News: Everything works and was well enough packed that every box inside looked great. Thanks B&H

TGITuesday today for me!!!! I work sat, sun, mon & tues....this week has been dragging along (only 4 days but we work about 13 hour shifts...)

think I might grab the wife and baby and make a road trip to france this weekend :D (only 45 minutes away :p )

K-Town's COOL!! I was stationed in Pirmasens!! The rest of my Army unit was in K-Town, very friendly folks there. Except for that one lady who got mad cause I didn't sweep the stoop to her satisfaction. Is she still there? <vbg>

News? My boss totally switched my schedule and did not call me to let me know.... Nearly AWOL.

Bad news: my chronic health problems are playing up really badly, I got very little sleep last night - and I've got a viral bug on top. I'm far too ill to grab my camera and do anything with it - in fact, my arm muscles are so bad I don't think I could cope with the weight, whilst some beautiful cut orchids are now well past their best. I have things to do (including a pile of post-processing) and can't find the strength, but I can't sleep either.

Good news: my family and friends love me. Whatever else happens, I know I will be OK. I got an unexpected phone call a couple of days ago from a friend who is still very ill, whilst another friend told me repeatedly that she loved me as I am, much as she was hoping I'd soon feel a bit better.

Perspective is important!

hmm...
2 types of rank... Enlisted and Officer... Officers have bachelors or better and are the "managers" whereas the Enlisted are the workers/supervisors.
Most, if not all, aviators fly(to an extent/needs of the Air Force) for their whole careers. Pilots are held to a 10 year commitment after flight school... Enlisted guys/gals are kept in the flying careerfield because of the cost of training-I went to school for 2 years for my first helicopter-my first flight school alone cost close to or over $2M.
They spent the money to get us flying, therefor they keep us flying.

Just booked my winter vacation for 2 weeks at Kona Hawaii for Feb '08. Big Island, here we come!!!
Hawaii is a photographer paradise. However, I missed a huge opportunity when I left my 100mm macro home. There are so many interesting critters and many very unusual flowers as well. The 100mm would have been a perfect lens in many cases.

Good news:
It's noon-I just woke up.

Hawaii is a photographer paradise. However, I missed a huge opportunity when I left my 100mm macro home. There are so many interesting critters and many very unusual flowers as well. The 100mm would have been a perfect lens in many cases.

Not our first trip to this island, there is just so much to do that we needed to go for an extended time:D

2 weeks to try and fit it all in, and it may be tight!

Black Sand beach, volcano (hopefully still flowing), turtles, flowers, scenic, observatory, etc.

Oh, and golf.

Picked up a condo ocean side for a really good deal.

Last two weeks of Feb., so will break up the winter quite well.

Good News: There is a photography job opening up with Cadet Media at the AFA that I'm highly qualified for - best part would be photography sporting events.

Bad News: The pay system is different that the one I'm in now.

Good News: They say they can convert me over to the retirement plan in the new pay system.

Bad News: The new retirement plan is, how shall I say it - crappy; and I have 34 years in the old plan.

Good News: They say I may be able to retire early from the old plan and take the job.

So-so News: Nobody knows anything for sure.
