Man oh man, am I behind! These are over a month old! Sorry about that. Anyway, allowed a couple of songs but I think I got the gist of the concert:
#1 The obligatory collage:

#2 This one of the bass player took my breath away:

#3 Here's some emotion:

Dwight, that collage is one of my favorites out of all of yours that I've seen.
It looks like you had some pretty decent light. In the full stage shot, I see they even had some light on the backup singers. Got any shots of them?
(Who wants to look at old farts playing guitars when there are babes on stage?)

Maybe you should go look at my gallery, Curtis! :-)

uh oh - Rick's put on a bit of weight. Still looking great though. Seems like the rest of them has lost a bit of weight.
Anyway - awesome shots as usual.

Thank you, thank you. I had my earplugs in. But the crowd was on fire!

It's not my thing (if I have a thing) but they were certainly a hit.

I'd rather review the tunes than the waistlines ... I am working on my own thickness issues.

When I saw them they were on a package deal with another act in Europe. They blew the roof off the building. The other act tore down the rest of it.
LS were awesome. Very col to see live. Loooooooooooooooong time ago I used to do backup vocals in a band and some of the songs we sang were LS songs. I've had the privilege to meet Mr Medlock. A very very nice man.

Well, they all look good at 24" x 36" in a black frame! ;)

Great set Dwight...
#2 looks like he's got a buzz on...
The collage looks pretty good... Unique in it's own right...
To simplify marketing...Maybe they should go by "Leonard Skinner" and wear business suits?

John, Jim, Gator,
Thank you. The gallery is created by Project Seven (P7) software that integrates with Adobe Dreamweaver which I have used for many years. I had to find a way to quite hand coding the galleries and this is what I liked. It has some significant drawbacks but the presentation is good.
I just read about the 1DsMIII and wonder how it will do in the concert arena ... I may get one along with one or two 1DMIIIs this year.

excellent collage, i think i like it more than any one individual photo. skynyrd's changed quite a bit, eh, between the dying and the getting kicked out. are there any original members left?

I like # 8 as well, Dwight. I believe the collage is the best I have seen, too. Good stuff. Not my cup of tea music-wise, but LS has paid its dues and know what they are doing.

I like the collage as is, but I think I'ld also try and see if it weren't better to put the 'small images' at the bottom, and the stage overview at the top: Now the middle (singer) image is a bit interfering with the lettering...
Have to see it to decide what would work best however...

Well, Rene, this one is "in the can" so I won't be experimenting with it but I understand what you are suggesting. In response to two of your observations: I like the lettering overlaying one or more images with its drop shadow ... for me it gives a sense of integration as opposed to totally separate/independent pieces sitting on the canvas. As for images on top, I have tried the other way round several times and usually get poor feedback. I have The Temptations and The Four Tops collages coming (I just haven't had time to add them to my website yet) and both have this LS arrangement more or less and I actually got a, "This isn't your worst work ever!" from my greatest critic which amidst the raucous laughter of the by standers it was pointed out that this is a great compliment coming from Nils! Anyway, I welcome your observations on my collages as I have certainly integrated a number of your suggestions into my collage arrangements and will continue to do so, but the amount of time it takes now is excessive ... heck, finding a font that approaches being appropriate takes 30-60 minutes.

Wu_Jolie, How's things in Texas? I guess you are going to miss the POTN gathering at my house tomorrow, eh? :-) Oh, thank you. I have several more events in the pipeline and will be shooting UB40 tonight.

Some continuity (overlay), and cohesiveness is essential to keep the collage fluent...
Fonts are fun, specialty sets can be expensive... Finding another variety is always rewarding... I used a "San Francisco" font (Like the lettering on the TV show "Bonanza".) in a resort vacation giveaway...And my east coast (newspaper) printer had a tough time finding it... They said it wasn't commonly used around here...Go figure...

You just reminded me that it is probably time for me to go find more free fonts online ... which is where I get all mine! I get 10 or 20 at a time and add them. Some I will never use. Some I will use if I remember them ... these are usually ones with little pictures rather than letters ... could be very nice but I never think of them when I am sweating a collage, sigh.
Geez, John, where's the color in your signature?

Texas is great, 'cept for the no work thing.:)
I'll be looking for more of your event shots when I visit POTN. Have fun at UB40 tonight!

Free is always good... My old MAC's are loaded with fonts for graphic arts... Hadn't found a way to copy them to the PC yet... Might go back to the original software disks and there may be PC versions available right on the 3.5" floppy...
The color in my signature might return early next week...But just for a brief time, as an announcement... I've got another nature (deer) picture to be featured on 2 regional/national (CBS, & NBC) TV stations during the MidDay News broadcasts...
