Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on equipment for protecting the 300d from the elements.

I shoot primary beach & water-based shots and also can get stuck in rain from time to time so it probably would be a good idea to invest in something sooner than later....

Thanks in advance for any thoughts,

I don't think Canon make anything, their waterproof hard shells are usually for their compact range only.

I suggest you try one of the specialist diving/photgraphy shops like cameras underwater (thats probably a dot com by now) they will be best place to advise you on that sort of thing.

Thanks for that link. That little rain cover looks like a good idea for just $29. You'll be into a min. of $200 for a hard case from what I've found. I've been looking for a long time and keep trying to find a good deal somewhere, but have come up empty. I live on the lake and wakeboard 2-4 times/week, so I'm often near the water or on a boat. I also scuba dive and would love to take my cameras, but just haven't brought myself to order a hard case. I used to look for them for my Rebel and my video camera and I"ve looked a little now for my 10D....

Please let us know if you find a full case reasonably priced.

I was going to buy one of those but never did. I always resorted to the 10-cent plastic bag when it started raining. Now with the MKII, it's not an issue. Still is with the other cams though.
