A wannabe macro of an open winged butterfly

i took this through a chain link fence. it was about 8 feet away . i am suprised at how good it turned out,and since butterflies usually have their wings closed i just had to try it. i wish i could've got closer .it had some nice colors

for some reason I love this more then most close ups of butterflies.

I think it's because it's flying around among the beautiful wild flowers and just seems more free

thanks marie,t was probably better this way since i dont have a macro lense anyway.but i would've given it a try with the kit lense if i could've got closer.
