POTN G-series Speed Challenge 133 - Hard Work
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
************************************************** ********************************
RESULTS!
Sorry about the subject this week which resulted in so few entries. I should have realized that hard work is something most photographers avoid if they are like me, but I thank the four faithfuls who gave it a shot anyway. Even though there were only four, choosing was still hard since everyone had a different interpretation of hard work, but here goes...
FIRST - IainB: "Meltdown". Good composition and someone doing a skilled job that I would call hard work. Congratulations and over to you for next week.
SECOND - Boutty: "Delivery Man". No question this guy is doing the nastiest, hardest work in any of the entries, but I just had to bump it down one for awkward composition, although I fully appreciate it would be tough to ask a guy carrying most of a cow on his back to stop and pose, "Move a little to the right" or "Say cheese" ;)
THIRD - 7kPulldown: "End of the Line". Good capture of a scene that looks as if it could be the hardest job of all the entries (I assume the railcar ran off the end of the line?) but the guys and machines aren't actually doing much work at the instant you took the shot.
Very Honourable Mention: rowdyred94: "Little Handyman". If this had been a studio portrait challenge you'd have won with this nicely posed shot, but I think any work he might be doing with all those tools is too far into the future!
************************************************** ********************************
Your photos can be of humans, animals, vegetables (the mind boggles!) or machines, singular or plural, as long as it clearly illustrates working hard - HARD WORK is being done. How you interpret "work" I'll leave up to you.
