I take a lot of macro images and in my old "film" days I used a Canon T-90 and a 200mm macro lens. I tend to take a lot of images with very dark backgrounds creating a metering problem if the center spot metering is too large. My Canon T-90 flash had a pre-flash feature (fel) that would evaluate the reflected light thru the in camera spot meter and produce an accurate exposure, 90% of the time. I have not had this same success rate since converting to digital. I am looking to upgrade to a pro digital system. Do any of the current digital cameras have FEL using the spot meter, and what % of the total field is the spot meter?
