Nice idea. The trees are well exposed.

If I was taking that shot, I'd try and get in lots closer (so those tree stumps are right in the foreground. That would also cut out a great deal of the sky, and would give you a direct contrast between dead trees and live trees.

dof was too shallow then it was over sharpened but the full size image might not have that problem.
But the biggest thing is what is the subject?
My eyes keep going around and around the image looking for something to lock on too.
