I'm looking for a nice, but simple proof album, nothing too expensive, but nothing that looks like it came from walmart either. Ideally something that would hold about 400 4x6s would be perfect.
What are you people using?

The proof books at whcc look really nice and seem to be at a reasonable cost.
Since this is public information on their site : http://www.whcc.com/pricing/whcc_2007_pricing_0207.pdf and about page 10 and 11 have the proof books.

I use a really nice black proof book with a 4x4 square window in the front. Topflight Albums carries them but you have to register to access their prices. It's PBMS Proof book catergory. They have 2 or 3 view. I also order the CD cases from them that have a smal 2x2 window so everything matches:) www.topflightalbums.com

Renaissance has some high capacity albums in the Albums Inc catalog. And the Topflight Premira style, also sold through Albums Inc., have a 2-up, 200 page capacity with insertable order leaves.

My pro lab does a spiral bound proof book, 10x15" sheets, 24 images per page (less if you like), cardboard back cover and clear plastic front. Pretty reasonably priced, and takes me about 20 minutes to prepare.

I've used this one (http://www.albumsinc.com/catalog.asp?ProductKey={81343C1E-3006-48C3-A695-BACE12058C5E}) the last couple weddings...

As mentioned earlier, www.whcc.com will produce spiral bound with cover proof books - either 8.5x11 or 11x14. You have choices about the number of proofs per page. If you make a cover you can put a featured photo and title on the page. It is a nice presentation and economical. You upload the images via ftp in the orientation you want. Dennis

I am currently trialing a proof book using one of the Apple Iphoto books. I use photoshop to build contact sheets and insert them as a whole page.
I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks everyone, I found an old contact for some really nice proof albums, they hold 432 4x6s, and they look great! $19.95 each. They are from a called Milano Classic photo albums, they don't have a website, but if anybody is interested I can provide the contact details for you to contact them. Here is a pic of the album. They also make them in black, which is the colour I ordered
