Can anyone give advice on a fast SD Card for this camera please. Looking to get a 2 GB SD Card but the speeds seem deceiving.
Which card has the fastest read/write capabilities for this camera?
Thanks.

Try this site Rob Galbraith DPI (http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007)
hes got good info on this subject.
If all else fails try Sandisk Ultra II it will be more then you'll need in the S3IS.

Yes, Sandisk Ultra IIs or better are all excellent. I'm currently using a Kingston 4GB class 2 SDHC card with no speed related issues.

I just got my PowerShot S3 IS a few weeks ago. I wanted at least a 2gig SD card. So I ended up going with the SanDisk Extreme III over the SanDisk Ultra II only because I found it at a very good sale price. The Extreme III has a minimum write and read speed of about 20 megabytes per second. There is a noticeable difference in the speed from my normal 256 mb SanDisk SD card. If there is a noticeable difference in the speed between the Ultra 2 and Extreme 3 I could not say, however if it helps Circuit City has a 2 gig Ultar 2 at $44.99 and a 2 gig Extreme 3 for $39.99 just food for thought.

I have a Transcend 4GB 166x card. Great performance in my opinion.

I have an extreme III also... I took wildlife pics in almost constant bursting and right after several photos in one burst i would turn it off without waiting for buffer.
