It's not always the case, but most of the time, it's better to not have the foreground out of focus. For some of us, having the foreground out of focus forces our eyes to try and put them in focus, which throws off the part that is in focus. It's usually ok to throw the background out of focus as that keeps the eyes on the in focus foreground area.

The part that is in focus you did a pretty good job on.
