I think this was Stuttgart. Might be Ladenburg or even Salzburg. (Andythaler - Does it look Familiar?) In any event, 1/4 second handheld - gotta love that image stabilization. I really really like the purple splash, but as I looked at it I thought that a mono treatment might work as well. I used Fred Mirandas B&W Pro then I just put the shot in the same room as the Diffuse Glow filter to get a little bit of grain as well as some glow.

Any preference? Any particular reason for the preference?

Thanks,

Rad

I much prefer the colour version and my reason is simple:

Churches are cold places anyway and the B&W enhances that feeling whereas the colour version gives that bit of warmth to the whole scene.

Just my honest opinion...

I agree with Meerkat.

But it also depends a great deal on the mood you're trying to create. The
mood of that pic has, "Color me," written all over it. It's beautiful, btw, both
the setting and the photo itself.

I much prefer the color (I usually do. :)).

I like how you've converted to b&w though. It looks like a very old photo and I think it has a eerie feel to it.

Either way, it's a great photo.

I'd go with Meerkat. The inside of a church is so full of colour it would be a shame to loose it all. If you want to do a bw of a church, why not try the outside. BB

Rad,

I have to disappoint you ... I'm not that big on churches

However, if it was close to Stuttgart, than it might have been Ladenburg, but not Salzburg (some 300 km distance).

That's how the church in Ladenburg looks from the outside ... might well be it.

The only other thing I know about Ladenburg is that there is an automobile museum, as Carl Benz (the 'Inventor' of the automobile) had his workshop there at the time of his first constructions. (That would be more the thing I would visit there  )

That said ... I also like the colour version better.
I would even like to see more intense colour in the glass windows, but most likely that was too much blown out to bring back in PS.

Best regards,
Andy
