Well as the title says.

I have just joined this forum. And after looking around for a while. It strucked me as strange that there is no section, where new members like my self can introduce ourselves. Before we start posting.

Or have I missed it.

This place is as good as any as is the General chat forum. Anyway, welcome.

In my experience, sections for new members to say 'Hi' are largely ingnored by everyone except moderators and other new members. The best thing to do is just jump in and mix it up. You're off to a great start.

Welcome to the forum.

Oh dear.

It would seem that I have put keyboard in mouth so to speak. Must go to the general section and say hello. Before going and sitting in the corner:lol:

Just join in, that's the easiest way of introducing yourself.

I mean, if you wandered into a new bar would you sit at a table with a sign saying "new folks sit here", or would you go to the bar and order a drink?

What everybody else seems to have forgotten is that there is actually a member introductions thread (not everybody use it though and it is not mandatory to post the introduction there)

Not sure why it is not a sticky ( I thought it was before I searched for it ).

Nope. But I would also not go into a new bar/pub and start swinging:lol:

Don't worry about it pampers. There's not much formality here. Pitch in. Ask questions. Show us some of your pictures. Get involved with debates. Don't worry about being new - we all were once.

But if it was a sticky, no one would read it. :):):)

You have to shoot a hot nekkid woman and PM a mod to post in G&N. THAT'S how you get welcomed. By me at least! :)

Welcome to POTN.

I've spent a few weekends recently in St Leonards. My grandparents own a house on Harley Shute Rd, but would be nice for some good weather!

nobody reads it, as belmondo says - it goes against the human nature of caring only for yourself.

Heck... I'd wish people read the critique section... let alone newbie's...

Who needs newbies anyways? ;)

Jump in and start posting.

Hi Everyone, it's dumb question time at POTN now, so here we go. How does one get the Copyright symbol to print on photos? I know I should know this, but the fact is I don't... Help, Pat

Hi Pat and welcome to POTN!

The overlaid personal graphic signature over photos is called a watermark. Watermarking is done on photo service (some online photo sharing services add it without asking) or if you do it at home with Photoshop you would use transparent layers.

Hi Pekka, Thank you for the information on watermarks, but I'm not sure, and I may be totally off base here as my intention was to ask; what is the ANSI code implementation for the copyright symbol to add to my photos. Am I confusing the situation here. Best regards, Pat:-?

The easiest way is to copy it from the character map provided by your operating system. Many applications will convert (c) to the copyright symbol ©. In Windows, you can also enter it on the numeric keypad by holding down the Alt- key and typing 0169 (the zero matters).

Jon, Thanks so much. I forgot the "0"169. Regards, Pat
