I have posted any canoeing pictures for a while so I thought I'd share some from last weekend's London International

#1 Luke is determined to win the sprint

#2 I haven't checked the rules in a while but I am fairly sure spearing your opponent in the throat is against one of them...

#3 Will at speed

That is one crazy sport. I am always impressed every time you post them. Nicely done... keep 'em coming. I really need to come over more often and hang out with you all, the shooting opportunities over there just seem to be endless. Cheers

#2...Water Jousting......I can see this catching on!

Nice work there, even if the water does look a tad murky!

I'm fairly sure it is against the rules... ;) Water colour is pretty much down to whatever colour the sky is and for much of the weekend it was debatable who was wetter, the canoeists or those standing watching them.

Thanks... the sport isn't huge but it is healthy and growing steadily. There are four national open league divisions in addition to two national women's leagues and two youth leagues. There are also some regional and university leagues. So things are pretty busy. In addition to the league matches there are a number of large non-league championships during the year organised by individual clubs of which the London International was one - this year there were 54 teams there including 15 international sides.

There will be three national teams going to the European Championships in France next month which I am looking forward to.
