Love 3. Hate microphones. especially the one that is in the way of a cracking shot in 6.

Not your fault, I know. The shot would have been awesome without that flipping mic in the way.

Hey She, yeah bloody things are annoying, but meh getting round them and making them look better/ok is just something that comes with practice and time i spose.

Cheers guys.

At 50mm, which lens are you using James?

1, 3, 5, 6, 7, are real good composition and have some sharpness and pop to them... While # 8 is real good action, with the nice noisy grain, adding some additional variety to the whole set... #'s 2 and 4 are long shots, and your spot focus might have missed the "eyes/face"?

Edit: I'd crop the mike stem out of #6 and make it a close up of the face & guitar head...

I like #5 and 7.
#8 is nice, but could use a crop.

Hello John, was using my Sigma 18-50 2.8 (love that lense)
yeah i see what u mean about the spot metering they do look a lil Oof i like the space in No6 to be honest.

Narlus, Thanks for comments always good to get appreciation from someone with your talent.

No8 is croped, and i didnt want to crop into it anymore other wise it may compramise the image quality.

Cheers Guys!

Hey Simon, Cheers for comment.

I just had another job, me and the house photog just sat down and watched it as there was not one bit of front lighting and couldnt see anything, oh and there was so much smoke you couldnt see ur hand in front of your face, and every time there was a break between smoke, you line up a shot, and this other photographer in the pit iether ran into you or infront of your shot and ruined it. GGGGRRRRR now that p!!sed me off!
luckily the promoter let me in the pit a bit later to try get some more shots as he knew i had not got a shot i was happy with as to be fair the audience couldnt even see the bands faces etc so in the end i managed to get a couple of OK shots but nothing that i was stoked about, but the promoter i was working for was fine about it. you win some you loose some lol.

Cheers

#5, #7 and #8 ... oh, crap, that's the same as Rene, sigh. Are they a tad soft?

You just keep working with promoters and the house guys and it'll all work out in the long run. Remember, it's "Who you know, not what you!" that counts most in this game.

Yup, another one in agreement with Rene, even down to the thought of a crop for 8.

Nice set.
