first of all i have missed having time to step in and see what everyone has been shooting. trying to stay focused at the day job.

anyway, here is one of the last things i shot. it was a small party where two of the members of outformation played. the lighting left much to be desired and i had a hard time getting the skyline while keeping a fast enough shutter for the players.

you can see them all here: http://musicphotog.com/offtopic/out4atl/

here is the setting:

all in all i wasn't real happy with these, but it was a party and everyone was pretty rowdy. i only shot the band for about 15 minutes before i had to pack up and continue enjoying myself

I like the first pic...

The background is interesting, but difficult to work with... Some cropping, to get the post/column out of the picture, and a shift to vertical framing in #2 might be better...

After living in these tall buildings for a while, they become less impressive... However, you'll never get tired of the top floor penthouse suites... Especially when you get a panoramic view above all the other buildings... What's great about shooting from the mid floor level is the lesser distortion of the building shapes... The mid floor shots are also great for lots of glass and window glitter. But they become overwhelming as backgrounds... Looks like a great outdoor deck party.

Tough job. #3 and 4 have the best balance fore- background, but seem a bit soft.
Flashed ones could have used a bit longer shutterspeed IMO.
