Help canon 430ex or Sigma ef-500dg super

OK, I am frustrated! Ive read, read, and read some more. Now I need your help. I am on a somewhat limited budget. I need a flash for an upcoming event, indoors, room lighting. I am using my Rebel XTI, and a Tamron 17-50 lens. Between Canon's 430ex (yeh I'd love the 580exII,but $$$) and the Sigma EF-500dg Super. Which way would YOU go? Reliabilty, and photo quality is my major concerns. The shots will be mixed beween action and posed. Help please, and thanks.

If your doing events, I would opt for the quicker recycle time on the flash. Both have their pros and cons, but I think you will be safer with the 430ex.
