What sort of pc sync cord to I need to connect my 30D to 580EX II.
Is it male to male or female to female.
Does anyone know a good (cheap) place to get one in the UK
Thanks Mark

Not sure about the UK, however, you will need a male on one end, and a female on the other. This is how almost all pc connections work directly from flash to camera.

Nope.
The PC socket on the 580EX II is just like the one on the camera. Female.
You'll need a cord with a male connector on both ends.

Also note that the PC connector on both the camera end and the 580EX II end happens to be the Nikon Screwlock variant of the PC connector (yes, even on a Canon camera and flash).
This flavor of PC connector will accommodate a "plain" PC connector, and the far more reliable Nikon Screwlock PC connector.
But as Curtis indicates, the cord must have a male PC (or male Nikon Screwlock PC) on both ends.
Enjoy! Lon

The Nikon SC-11 cord has the screw lock PC plug on both ends; it is only $19.95 at B&H, although the S/H will be as much or more than that, I am sure.
