you have to be a student or an instructor at a university level PHOTOGRAPHY school. At least, you have to take photography classes. If you check the form, there is a place for the instructor to sign it.

I would suggest to stay away from ebay. You can save a little bit, but, it's not worth the risk. And with the 6 years warranty, it's worth going to a reputable dealer. The lowest price is at 17th street photo, $329.89. Call B&H, they'll match the 17th street photo price (B&H shipping is about $5-$6 less). Can you find it significanly cheaper on ebay?

well, generally I agree - e-bay can be a pretty hazardous place. But, there are some reputable dealers that sell through ebay.

I know that Cord Camera sells on E-bay, though I recall that their prices are just a tad higher than those of B&H, at least on the lenses I checked out. Best to shop around a bit and give yourself good reason to trust the seller.

Great link I've heard and seen how good the Tamron lense (28-75) but was unaware that they offer a student discount. I've been enrolled in school know for the past year and a half & it's a great deal of vendors who give student discounts that is very affordable.

Just for info I've save $$$ with the following retailers
Adobe
Alien Bees
Bogen
Tenba
Mamiya
