took this a while ago with a macro i borrowed from mom.
i think i might try and duplicate it with a different lens and see if i can get the entire pawn in focus as to me the front edge is out due to the macro ???
C&C much appreciated

What did you use for F stop? Did you use a tripod? I thought the lighting was interesting. You almost have a shadow of the pawn visible and it might be interesting to allow the shadown to be visible by moving the extra pieces out of the pawns shadow. Dennis

yea i agree. other pieces are distracting. would be cool to see just pawn and its shadow across the board. just use the macro again and use a higher f stop if you want more of a DOF.

i forget off hand the specific settings as i took it one day while i was at my parents house.
i do remember i used her 20D with a 90mm 2.8 tamron macro lens. I beleive i had the F stop at 2.8 . the lighting was actually a small lamp that i had place off in the distance that had something around 15W bulb in it?
