I recently had to go to Oahu on business and took a few extra days to poke around. Oahu has the reputation of being the loud, obnoxious sister of prettier islands like Kauai and the Big Island. Don't fall for that. It's a beautiful island if you take the time to explore. My meager photographic offerings don't really do it justice. But here are some just the same:

1. Sunrise on the eastern side, far from Waikiki:

2. Haunama Bay:

3. Pineapple plantation in the middle of the island:

4. Sunset near KoKo Head (not a great shot, but I had to add it to complete the string):

I'll be posting some flowers in the next thread. C&C always welcome!

#2 is NOT Hanauma Bay. Hanauma is back south down the road about 3 miles, after you hit that cliff section of the road. This beach is Makapu'u. I bodyboard there and I've hiked up to the lighthouse there about 100 times. :)

Oh, thought I'd mention that you have some dust on your sensor. See #2 on the horizon about a half inch off the cliff edge.

Shots are very nice.

Nice series, I agree that once you get away from Honolulu, Oahu is very senic! I've got some really nice shots from that area 3 years ago.

Thanks for the correction, jrader. I should've realized I mis-named it at least rom the fact that there are no people on the beach. You're very lucky to live where you do. Please post some of your shots. (Fortunately, dust was on the lens but looks like I didn't get it all in PP.)
