I like the lighting on the top shot ... on the second shot I would have cropped a bit.

Both nice. The swallow is hard to get.

The cormorant is overall one of the nicest images of that species I have ever seen. The exposure, colours, composition, pose and sharpness are just so darn good.

The swallow is excellent as well, focused very sharply even at that distance. Have you tried shooting them with the 300 lens ? Could be more handy than the 500. Again, lovely colours.

Now i know the 500mm works with the mk3 ( some had problems ) i will give the 300mm ago but im sure the lens will be to short and a 1,4tc may kill the AF speed down a little .

Two excellent images here. Nice DOF and BG in both images with lots of details and good light on the birds.

Both are very nice shots with beautiful light and I also am in awe of anyone who can get a swallow in flight! :-)
