Recently, one of the pin of the CF card reader of my powershot G5 became bent. somehow managed to straighten up but now the card reader is not working.Any help would be appreciated to guide me to replace the card reader.Bazlur.

I think you mean the card slot on your camera. I would not advise trying to fix it yourself, as the camera will probably need to be taken apart. Send it in to Canon to have them repair it.

My guess would be at 125.00 per hour plus parts, that even a relatively simple repair would exceed the average value of a used G5. Even getting an estimate may be relatively expensive. If you did a reasonable job of repairing the pins, then maybe your cf card is bad? Maybe try a different one.

I have ordered the card reader and I would like to try myself.
Any link to the pdf file of the service manual for the powershot G5 would be appreciated.

If you have another camera, some pics of the disassembling procedure will be interesting :)

Make careful notes about the parts and screws location, they will be helpful for re-assembling the camera.
