The rumor is that they are not for USA. AFAIK they have never been seen on the Canon USA Web site, and I check the B&H site every day or so and I haven't seen them there, either.
I'm interested in one, but perhaps we have to wait for the MkII. . .
Have Fun,

is this normal, did the 40d come out other places first for awhile? or do they just test some products in other areas before they brign them to the states? Anyone in the states pick one up yet through a dealer somewhere else?

yup, i dont think they're scheduled to ever be released in the states. I'm sure you can get your hands on one though, if you look hard enough...I'm sure someone'll ship it overseas to you.
it is more expensive than the p-5000 and apparantly the screen isn't as nice according to reviews i've read. the battery is an advantage, but not enough to justify the extra cost and the inferior screen to the p-5000 in my opinion.

I did not try the M80 but I did hold it in my hand, it looks pretty slick. What I did is this, I tested the harddrive change on an EPSON p-2000 and it worked, so I ended up getting the p-3000 (40gb hdd), replaced the harddrive with a HITACHI 120GB 5400rpm and I got my self a p-5000+ (aka 5700, ha haa). It is an easy mod and it is worth every dime.
Here is a link where I got the idea and help: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=354751
I hope this helps you discern.

Thank you Cathpah (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/member.php?u=49600)-, it worked like a charm. I got the p-3000 and did the mod. It is not that hard at all.
You can get the p-3000 at buy.com for 359 (http://www.buy.com/prod/epson-p-3000-multimedia-storage-p3000-epson-p3000/q/loc/101/203173046.html),- after rebates and just do the mod, no risk no profit and the profit in this case is over 300 USD.

you may want to look at the tutorial...caesar explained the process really well, and i think most people wouldn't have a problem with it.
