Just a few birds coming through that I had the privilege to photograph this morning. Might need an ID for one of them...;)
1. Maybe a Sanderling?? It was about 20-25% larger than the Least and Semipalmated Sandpipers it was with and acted independantly within the flock:

2. Semipalmated Sandpipers:

#1 looks like a Sanderling to me. Excellent series as always Daniel. I like em all and #2 is simply fabulous.

Very nice shots and a great variety of shorebirds, the 4th shot is my favourite, I love the water colour and the catchlight! Not an expert but I think the first shot is a Sanderling also, based on the size description and bill shape -if you have any shots with the feet showing, a Sanderling lacks the back "toe" that other shorebirds will have. :-)

Thanks downy, I knew about that field mark, but unfortunately all my shots have both feet in the water. It was coming closer and closer until a Merlin spooked the flock away for good. I waited a good while for them to come back...but they did not. On the positive side I am now certain it is a Sanderling.
...and thanks to all others who took time to view and comment!!:D
