Hello to the POTN community - first off let me apologize for my lack of participation of recent months. I have literally been extremely busy with work, family, and other commitments. As I start to devote more of me free time back to photography, I feel as though I am always playing catchup. I am starting to wonder if it's me or if it's just the nature of the beast.
Lately, it seems we are getting more and more barraged every day with simply different takes of the same information that is perpetuated across the web. I am sometimes lost in a sea of forum, blog, and site news and post updates. It's very challenging to keep current with all these different "must see" resources every day, and yet still maintain time for work, family, play, and of course, shooting. Where does it end?
I actually put out an article on the subject on a regional site fairly recently that occupies a lot of my time. It's just my ideas on possible ways to manage all this information effectively. If anyone is interested, that can be found here: http://www.scphotogs.com/articles under the title "Information Management". Feel free to read the other ones there, but that particular article is what is driving my thoughts lately.
Most recently, I started (go figure) a new blog to put more of my own perspective on things online. It can be viewed by any interested here: www.canonblogger.com (http://www.canonblogger.com/)
On the new blog, I posed an interesting question on what drives people toward particular sites...written content, audio content, or video content? I am guessing the results will go toward the latter two, but the online photography community is always surprising me, so if you could, stop over and check out either the article, the poll, or both as I'd really like to hear some feedback. Alternatively, you could also post feedback here at Naturescapes or let me know directly: jason AT scphotogs DOT com
To the moderating staff: I hope this is okay to be posting references to other resources like this...if not, feel free to delete, or move to another more appropriate area as needed (my guess was "General Chat" would be the most appropriate)...:?:
