Do you get actual brides with their dresses or do you hire models and buy a cheap dress? All the TTD shots I see are REALLY good looking people!

I have not posted mine yet, but mine were actually two women divorced...
I am doing another with a couple single girls that just want to do it and have some fun.
I have also heard of running local ads and saying Free trash the dress sessions...not sure I would do that one just yet...
Ohio has yet to catch on to this..
I will post pics later tonight..

I was considering posting an ad (yes, Craiglist, or something similar), asking for all "soon to be divorcees" interested in a TDD session, in exchange for prints, to see what kind of turnout I can get..
Looks like fun, although I haven't had any of my clients wanting to do that thus far..

I've got my first TTD session lined up in about 2 weeks. She's an actual newlywed. And, she's a good looking person.
I actually have a co-worker that would model for me for a TTD session if I bought her a dress.

You have people trashing dresses all over the place now. In it's purest form, it is meant to be a ceremony of liberation for the bride to trash her wedding dress. But now it's gotten so popular that people are doing TTD session just to get dramatic photographs, or a photographer hiring models and buying cheap dresses just to have TTD in their portfolio. So you'll have answers all over the board.
I've always been more or less a purist so I won't hire models for my portfolio, or buy a cheap dress just to trash it. It's gotta be real.
I have a bride who wants to trash her dress... for real. It's a gorgeous Maggie Sottero dress and it's gonna be destroyed. We just gotta hope this summer's lousy weather gets a little warmer so we can do it without getting her sick.

It's called 'trash the dress'...but almost all of the photos I've seen are of the dress getting wet and or dirty. Can't they just be cleaned? Just about every wedding I've seen, the dress gets a little dirty anyway (being dragged all over the place)...and needs to be cleaned (if it's going to be sold or passed on).
So do these sessions actually ruin the dress? Sure, if it's a cheap dress, it might cost more to have it cleaned, than it cost to buy...but after spending $2000 or more on a dress, a couple hundred to have it cleaned seems almost reasonable.
