I took this shot with a 300d, a canon 100mm Macro, and a 550 ex.
The camera was set to 1/200th at f16.

Please tear this picture apart. I have really been focusing on macro photography lately but I havent had any guidance as to what I am doing right and wrong.

BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

very nice as is. my only suggestion, would be to make is a little more brighter, but then again it could be my screen.

the photo is very nice but I think it could be improved in terms of composition. Actually it is nice overall but I see a couple of small points which might help.
I like the nice background which is not distracting and allows one to concentrate on the flower and insect.
I find that seeing only the wing on one side is not good. I assume the wing on the one side where I do not see it is tucked back in so as not to be seen but I think seeing both left and right side wings would be compositionally better.
The mostly front view may not be the most interesting. I can't say for sure but I might prefer a view from the top showing more overall structure of the insect and perhaps of the flower as well.
Another small detail but something that might be improved is the fact that the one wing just seems to touch the edge of the picture. It might be better to have a little more room on the left between edge of wing and edge of photo.
All small points but I thought they might be helpful and as with anyone only my opinion.
