Hey Timmy,
My condolances. I would be crying over my truck in those circumstances.

Just body damage, no one was hurt...in a few months i'll be able to forget about it.
I wont be able to get the extra two flashes and i9900 that i had planed, but ya live, and ya learn.

Huh? They're going to be able to prove you never touched your brakes? JMO, but I'd take my chances with the judge on that one. You may not have left rubber on the asphalt, but that doesn't mean you didn't try.

Most Canon shooters have been cited with failure to increase shutter speed to avoid a mistake.

Yes, a good thing. Otherwise these images of that wreck wouldn't have come out so sharp and contrasty!
Sorry,. I couldn't leave it alone....
Wicked bummer about the truck :(

I t-boned a guy who didnt have a stop sign like me...it's 100% my fault. I'm man enough to admit it..i'd much rather get all this taken care of and move on.
As it is i'm selling my IPOD so my paycheck can go towards the ticket and my deductable. The Ipod cash will go towards my 2nd (yeah...only my 2nd) payment on the truck.
This is seriously the order in which i checked things right after the accident.
1. Myself
2. Them
3. My truck
4. My camera
5. Their truck

I kinda know how you feel but not quite. My truck has never really taken any damage, in fact neither of my chev's have. The first I put into a ditch at highspeed, did I mention it was a 12' drop into the ditch? Well luckily I only had to replace the splashguard and spend 4 weeks pulling weeds out of the body and rims.
Then with my black chev I accidently smooshed another guy's door pretty good while parking; again my fault. Two grand later everyone was happy; but, think about what photo equipment that could have bought. And of course my rugged truck didn't sustain any damage.
On the other hand the insurance company want to put me in a rate class with other drivers who had totalled vehicles and were charged with dangerous driving. All of this for a dent, allbeit a sizeable one.

Good luck with the repairs, if that were my truck [my Tundra] it would have been totaled since the front end just crumples in a head on crash

Man, I really hate to see that! Sorry to hear about your accident. Mine was almost a month ago now, and I'm still dealing with attorneys, insurance companies, doctors, etc. They sure are a PITA. I hope you get everything resolved and behind you soon!

There was no injuries nor any dispute over who was at fault...i have a feeling it'll all pass over rather quickly, aside from my new insurence bills :?

Sorry to hear about your accident and your upcoming insurance rate increase.
It's GREAT to see that you are a stand up guy and accepting responsibility. Accidents happen, we all make mistakes. Cars can be replaced or fixed, integrity cannot.

I just "bought" it...i've only made one payment, i like my truck. The money i'm putting into fixing the major ass dent would have bought me some nice woofy exhaust...or an I9900, or an 85mm f/1.8....or or or.
My lens is coming monday though and honestly i think i'll be fine without spending money on camera stuff for a few weeks.
