Title: POTN G-series Speed Challenge 134 - 'Time Out...'

Amid the rush and bustle of modern life, you'll always see someone 'chilling out', 'taking a break', 'catching their breath', 'biding their time', 'passing time' or simply.... waiting...comtemplating. Apparantly it's good for the health! Capture a shot of those taking time to 'chill' in the context of busy modern life.

Thanks to all who found time to chill out and enjoy finding an entry for this week's challenge! May we all chill more often in this busy world, eh?

Here we go then...

3rd Place 'Lunchtime Hangout' Bottombracket A classic shot - two blokes with a lunchtime bevvy! Makes you want to eavesdrop. Planning to paint the town red, or are they painted themselves.... do tell! Nice work...I like it.

2nd Place 'Her whole world' rowdyred94 So serene... another classic! Photographically, it's pin sharp and composed nicely. The monochromatic rendition adds a real tranquility to this beautiful capture, and one can sense the peace, possibly after a welcome feed or a bath. Baby's tuckered for sure. Lovely work, and vying for 'top spot' for sure!

1st Place 'Nap in the Grass' Carolys I love it! I can just imagine what came before...darting around in the grass, chasing a ball, butterfly or whatever, absolutely loving the attention from 'mum' or 'dad'...and then playing possum for those few vital moments! And that eye.....not missing a trick! Fabulous!

Long Day KCJewel I'm a sucker for mum and baby shots - the 'chilling' is real, and deserved! Not sure that the colours are spot on here, what do you reckon?

Lazy Days grandadraymond I like the composition of this capture, and the colours are vibrant. Can imagine one saying to the other "Time to mooove, Mabel?" and the other answers "Just a little longer, Daisy...." The ultimate 'time-out'. Nice work, and a contender for honours.

Along the beach Boutty This is my idea of time out...we get away to a little spot with a lonely beach...barefoot, and have a strange ritual of walking the length of the beach daily, to touch our special rock at the far end! Nice colour and reflections here. I have to say however that the lack of a head troubles me a little, as in a time out shot, for me, the head reveals so much...

All alone PaulyG There's a bleakness to this shot which adds a sense of loneliness to the scene. The 'subject' is almost insignificant in the vastness, but that's what strengthens the sense of 'timeout' I feel a little more strength of contrast - maybe monochrome? - might have enhanced it.

A Glass on the Lawn teekay Yes, heh heh....my other favourite chill(ed) pastime ;). Sandles off, stretch out....and sip.... Photographically speaking, it may just be a little too saturated....the image, not him and her....

Congratulations Carolys! We await your challenge for us.

Post until Monday noon GMT, 3 September 2007.

Now that would be taking romance just a little too far, don't you think? My wife has offered to accompany me to golf on several occasions, but I have declined.... She might see another side of me....
Speaking of golf, I believe you play with fine Tommy Armour clubs, Boutty, or is my detective work incorrect?

I hope my boss can't see this! Took a sickie yesterday; went and played golf. My wife didn't want to come along. She rather walked in the shopping centre near by.

My goodness! How did you know? They are lovely set if I learnt to hit with them properly.
