Hi,
I just purchased an A60 new. When I zoom (in our out) as it finishes its movement I hear a series of clicking noises. This also happens when you turn off or on the camera, as the zoom lens finishes it makes the same noise.
It is the second one I tried with the same noise.
Do users of the other cameras in this line have this issue?
Thanks, Franco

I also tried an A75 at the store it sounded the same.
Shouldn't zoom be noise free (other than the motor)?

Seems other users have the same issue.
It sounds exactly like the mp3 in this subject (A70 clicking sound)

This recording seems like it has both zoom and focus noises
I guess this is normal sound for zoom (I know focus makes clicking noise in addition as it steps through)?

Ya thats the focus, I have taken about 20,000 pics with the a75 so far and I am now sure that the clicking is the lense actually foccusing. Zoom will have that little motor whine, bur if you watch the LCD, notice that it only clicks when you are foccusing.
If you really want to try, put camera in MF, zoom all the way out and run the MF from one end of its range through to the other without stopping, you will notice that it clicks when it tries to focus. The camera focuses alot faster when it on AF so the clicking sounds worse, but its actually just running through a wide range much quicker then it would on MF.
Cheers, Its such a common thing that I guess it normal for these cameras to do this, since my camera is running beautifully.
