Canon vs Nikon woes

I dont get all this stuff about Nikon really sticking it to Canon. Didnt Canon announce the 1Ds-Mrk III, which is clearly a better Camera than the Nikon D3 (on paper at least). So why does everyone seem to think that Nikon all of a sudden has become loads better than Canon?

mostly I think it's because canon came out with the 40D and then Nikon came out with the D300 which is better only in terms of AF during live view and a higher res LCD. The 1Ds MkIII will destroy another other dSLR on the planet, however most people are comparing the D3 with the 1d MkIII, which is closer in specs and price. Why are people doing this? because canon owners bitch about everything, the end.

Came out is strong wording. the Canon 40D I will hold in my hand in less than a month. the D3? I might see one in a store a year from now.

It doesnt really matter to me. I am a Canon loyalist...and will stick with them as long as they produce cameras :)
