I just took this pic this evening and played with it in DPP and then a little in Photoshop. Let me know what you think. Is it overdone or does it look ok? I would love to hear what you guys think. Thanks.

I love the color in this. The horizon is a little too centered though. The reflections help legitimize the positioning but I still think it would be a l ittle better if you dropped the horizon a bit in the frame.

Nice shot.

I was going back and forth with positioning the horizon while taking the shot. I didnt think the rule of thirds was a good idea here because if i lowered the horizon I would loose some of the foreground grass and if I raised it I would include a sidewalk that I was standing on. I guess my question is more about the PP done than the composition. This is the first time I have done more radical changes in DPP and photoshop. I changed WB to tungsten and then played with hue and saturation till I got what you see. Just curious if it looks overdone to the casual observer.

I like the composition. It's a bit too purple for me though. I really like the shadows of the grass and how the frame things in. NIce work.

Where can I find purple sky?

I think you are missing the point just a little. You can say the same thing about half of these HDR pictures you see on here that everyone is raving about. Its safe to say that I wasnt going for the realistic but more the artistic look I guess.

I am not against PP or any other techniques used to capture images that eye can see but the technology cannot, I just do not like use of PP to introduce an element that is not present in the original scene. My opinion is that if you want to create images, you do not really need a camera. JMT, do not want to derail the thread.

1st glance it looks beautiful--frame it!
2nd glance--the purple looks painted--frame it, but only let people glance at it once :)

I guess you could call it an artistic representation - like all art some will like and others won't. I am not fond of the color purple but the rest of the work seems quite nice
