I need to know if anyone can tell me how to go about doing this..
I really don't know the first thing about computers.

But I have a friend that her computer is terrible slow and she wants to wipe out the hard drive and reinstall windows. She is not worry about saving anything on her computer.

She just wants it all gone and bring it back
up fresh. Can someone tell me how to go about doing that?
I did mind one time but called tech support and he walked me through it.

She has her reboot disk and all. She has windows XP.
would appreciate any help on this matter thanks.
 :D

Gail,

In theory its quite straightforward to do. If you send me a PM I'll talk you through exactly how to do it. However I think you'd do better to give tech support a call because they'll be able to help you if things don't go exactly 'to plan' (which frequently happens :) ).

Hope this helps

Sam

Try to find someone in your neighbourhood who knows more about computers. We can tell you here how to do it, but if you both really don't know what you're doing, it's going to be difficult to help you if anything unexpected happens. I've worked for a computer help desk, and I know how difficult it is to imagine what's happening on a computer and imagining what's on the screen when you're talking to someone on the phone - doing it by posts in a forum like this is going to be even more difficult...
