The light was a little flat on Saturday which made things a bit of a struggle but the odd shot turned out OK.

#2 And again

The light was much more conducive to photography on Sunday - unfortunately the cars didn't seem to want to stay on the track to be photographed...

#4 Triumph GT6 going a bit astray

#5 and even single seaters weren't immune it seems

Great stuff Glenn. Looks like the MkIII has settled into it's duties nicely.

Hello Cadwell,
They are a lovely set of pictures, were you using your 1D Mk2 or Mk3? They are so crisp! could you please tell me what shutter speeds etc you were using, I can only dream of taking images like that.
Thanks
Paul

Paul

As it happens all of these were on the 1D Mark III. 1 through 5 were using the Canon 600mm f/4L at 1/320th and 6 through 8 were using the Sigma 500mm f/4.5 EX at 1/250th.

I had the Mark II on my shorter lenses on Sat/Sun and sitting in the car on Monday.

Good to meet you at weekend, kicking myself really for not asking for some advice when I had the chance, kind of embarrassed though in case I looked a numpty !

thank you for your reply, it is always nice to know what settings other people are using to get such beautifully crisp pictures. I have been lurking here for awhile and had to join up as everyone seems so friendly.
Cheers
Paul

Just fantastic Glenn. I like the angle at Knickerbrook, and flat lighting or not, you've got some real pop in the colours of #1. That 600 also gives lovely separation with the background. I have a real soft spot for GT6's (and Spitfires for that matter), so it is nice to see one being driven so hard. That is some wheel tuck on that Beemer!

Enjoyed all of these a lot.

Simon.

Nice to meet up again Glenn and I like the piccies. No posting any myself as there is Gold Cup overload and as I mentioned I was not at all happy with the event. Other than what I did for MSV the rest will lurk on the hard disk unprocessed.
