OK here is the deal. My Velbon5000 just isnt doing it anymore.....my heavy equipment makes it shake to the point that i can hold it by hand steadier sometimes. I am prolly going to want Manfrotto or some other high good brand. I carry this thing on my Canon backpack so I dont like knobs very much as they twist off so the less the better. Weight doesnt bother me to the point of needing carbon fiber so dont bother suggesting it. Let me know your experiences. THank You.

Bogen / Manfrotto 290NAT3 Tracker Tripod .....This is the only Bogen I saw that I liked the design on. Its green which I dont reallly like but since how I'm in the woods all the time I guess its kool. Tell me your thoughts.....its $190 I believe. :D

I've just seen a brand new manfrotto 290 for 135 on ebay yesterday. My advice is to find a used mint one. There are tons of them...

What is a good stable tripod/head package that is also relatively portable/compact?
