A friend of mine ask me if I would like to shoot his friend's wedding. What the girl want is something simple. Just shoot reception. She made it seem like she just want snap shots.

-From 6pm-10pm

-As People walk in entrance pose with bride and groom.
-Go around cover the event
-put final images on CD

I'm not use to this type of request. I do commercial, art, photojournalism, model and event coverage.

What should I charge for this 4 hour event?

Oh and she also gave me late notice, her wedding is this labor day weekend.

Thanks

What would you expect someone else to charge you for something they had never done before?

Usually, your free time is charged at twice what your day job is paid, plus unsocialable hours... plus the processing time, etc...

Just dont mug yourself off, and have that feeling a few days later that you got ripped off.

At least $400 if you are comfortable trying to shoot a reception.

Don't charge more than you can deliver.
