So i don't do weddings, but last weekend i did a wedding. Btw, did i mention i don't do weddings? But anyway, here's one of the nicer shots i got from one of those things that i don't do.

BTW, i've got nothing against wedding shooters, i just don't think I'm cut out for it. Too stressful for me.
Update on where i've been. I've just been working lately, doing some assisting. I haven't been doing any shooting for quite a while. I'm really itching to get a new portfolio image though.

Whats all the clutter doing on the right hand side?

Personally I like the "clutter". It really makes it feel like a shot that was snuck in. I like the fact that you can see the bouquet she's holding, the light is great and they're very sharp.
Cheers.....HB.

I, too, like all the clutter on the right. It's like you're sitting at an obstructed view last table kind of thing. I think the clutter makes it more "real" and less staged. Nice shot of a person who doesn't do weddings.

Nice----it looks like they snuck away for a kiss.

I like the flowers or bush on the right too and agree with the 'snuck in' comment.
Anymore? :)

Thanks guys! :)

It's grape vine/leave/grapes. This was shot in a grape vineyard. Just there for a little added effect.

At first, I thought you really don't do weddings and you snuck into a wedding and shot that. :);)
It is a nice shot. But being a wedding photographer, if I do these types of framed shots with what's around, I try to make sense of the not-focused items, put the shot in context. (I feel like I'm speaking Chinese today, sorry.) I don't recognize what the stuff is in the front that is not in focus and maybe it just doesn't matter.
And I would clone out the shadow on the top left side.

I think this makes a nice framing, only if it wasn't on his head

Well, i didn't really intend to make them recognizeable. Just a creative decision.
You're right about the shadow up top, i was thinking of getting rid of it, or adding a tiny bit of yellow/orange to it to match the other "clutter" in the foreground :)

Understand the intent of using the grapes (or whatever it is) as a framing element, but the brightness of it draws the eye away from the subject. Like the idea, but I think if it were a little less prominent and maybe toned down , it would work better.

I like it, is it shot in a vinyard, i like vinyards, mmm... Reminds me of gorillas in the mist for some reason, get the spying /prying feel, however grooms face is to shadowed, forground clutter to bright and he looks like he is biting her, just a little.:)T
