For those of you who've used either or both, which do you prefer for hosting/selling pictures? I'm looking at starting to sell pictures online and these two sites seem to be the frontrunners. I intend to have a couple of websites set up and link to galleries on either of these for picture sales in different areas. I'm looking for experiences with either regarding ease of sales, mgmt of account, ease of integration with existing sites, and print quality of orders. Exposure Manager is cheaper vs. the Pro account at Smugmug, but if Smugmug is better, I don't mind paying the difference. One other thing is I need to be able to make completely separate galleries, as I do kids' photography as well as modeling shots that are less family oriented.

Which would ya'll suggest?

I use SmugMug but not generally to sell images but to host them. I have the "pro" level because it supports my domain name. If you do sign up put "photosite" in the coupon code and its 50% off the first year (I used to use photosite.com but it is closing in September and this is SmugMug reward for comming their way). Good luck, Dennis

Try a search fist...cuz this exact thread has been discussed heavily before.

EM is my vote all the way, the quality of prints is key, and there lab is better than EZPrints (which Smugmug uses) in my experience using both and testing them head to head SEVERAL times.

I agree w/ Mike. I did the trial for both and ExpMan beats SM hand down. It is so much easier to set up the galleries. It is much more user friendly. I sell photos as well and have had NO issues w/ EM. But yeah, search function is your friend.

I have been quite happy with Exposuremanager. I did the trial and stayed. Here is a link with a $5 off coupon. LINK (http://www.exposuremanager.com/aff/rmichaelsphoto)

Another vote for EM. Great tech support, and flexibility in design of site.
Multiple Galleries , Different prices for different galleries set by you. Print quality is excellent, Ability to also have Self Fulfilment orders in which you fill the order not EM.
You can PW protect galelries if you wish, If you do not want to display full res files, they will resize them as you upload them. Trhey have a large product line for you to choose from when deciding what to offer. (even coffee mugs!)
There is only a slight learning curve to setting up a site, and you can Map your domain.
