Google Maps Street View

Have you seen this yet on Google maps? I just came across it this morning. Pretty cool. Scrolling too, just like you were walking down the street.
Running in 9 cities. That's B&H in NY if you don't recognize it.

That's pretty neat. Wonder if they will do all major metro areas soon. The only one in Texas is Houston so far.

Here is one of the cars they use to take the pictures. According to that article it has 11 cameras!

I think this was on the news a while back. Those Google guys are pretty awesome... rich bastards! I think they have another widget that pinpoints your photos or something like that... pretty soon, we wont ever have to leave our homes!

I cant wait for google to create a new type of online shopping where you can look at the item your going to buy in 3d on your screen or walk around the shopping centre online. :)

they can see what there is to see before they get there. Say you're looking for directions. Wouldn't you want to know what to look for? I would. ;-)
