Please c/c this one. Is there anything here? Any artistic merit to this particular shot? Thanks. Esq.

I think you could use some really grungy processing and it'd be totally cool! I like the image.

Nice pic but I don't care for the muted colors, might be better in B&W?

What do you think about these crops? There are some areas of the photo that to me don't seem like they've "earned the right" to be in the photo, they aren't contributing enough interest. Just my thought, anyway see what you think of the crops. The larger crop doesn't work that well for me, but it's closer to your original. The smaller crop seems good to me, but I'd probably clone out the sleeve with more of the arm.

i like the first one, the second one looses too much of the photo in my opinion..
as suggested, you should also try black and white, or something similar.

Okay, this is the best crop in my opinion. Anyway, thought I'd put in my 2 cents. I put some of the rope back in, it contributes to the scene.

LOL, they aren't my photos. He's got okay to edit up there, so I'm playing with em a little bit. I actually like the 3rd one. I'm neutral on the coloring scheme, but it does seem like something that you might find on a greeting card that's been doctored a little.

thanks for the comments and the edits. i like tkoutdoor's first crop best. not crazy about b/w conversion on this one. i like the muted colors on desaturate, hence the creative choice in the first place. cheers. Esq.

I'm curious if an image like this might be one of those magical ones when shot with an infrared conversion. I'm thinking of having my 10d converted once I get a 40d. My 20d will pull backup duty then.

I would like to see this in sepia...and I like the original crop best...

Shots like this usually works in sepia, I think a wider DOF would of been better, the out of focus hand seems more a distraction.
