I'm still not 100% trustworthy of my flash, a new 550. In most of the books I have read, they have -1 comp or whatever, but since this flash is the shi*, do I need to worry about that in average conditions?
For example, I am shooting a baseball team, and the place is going to be open park, meaning harsh sun from above. I put the flash at -1 so the flash wouldn't over-power the sun (if that's even possible). I'm going to take all the photos without any compensation on either Av or P mode, but P won't go over 1/200, regardless of if high speed sync is on.
In addition, should I use the FEL on their faces, and/or spot metering on the camera to make sure I expose for them.. not the bg? Should I find another, less harshly lit spot?
Thanks all!
