I have a canon s40 camara, how do I inprint the date on the picture. It looks like it can only have the date inprint by using Canon direct printer to print the picture. Any advise !
Thanks

Canon doesn't allow the embedding of the date on the photo (Except for A75 via the Postcard mode).
You will need to use the DPOF settings (print to Canon printer or bring to lab).
Or add date to via photo editing software.
Hope Canon starts to implement this feature in all future cameras.

Why? It's in the EXIF info in the file. If you're going to muck with it enough to wipe that out, why not overprint it while you're at it? You can add some truly useful information (like where, and who, and why) while you're at it.

I think the imprint feature of Postcard mode is very nice for most folks whom doen't want to mess with exif data, but yet want the date plastered into the image.
Myself, I would not use it. I think it's a horrid way of messing up a good picture. The date belongs on the reverse of an image. Perhaps in the margin. But not in the image...
The EasyPrint program does a good job of printing the data in the image (so you never actually mess up your image - can be printed with or without the date)

I was referring to the Postcard print option being made available in all furture Powershots. This the first camera to have the "option". This is useful if the person doesn't have access to a computer for a example, but still wants the date imprinted. I personally don't like date imprinting.
