Just have to be in the right place at the right time

So I was out taking some pictures of three people (gf's relatives) so they could give them to their father for his birthday. On the way home from the shoot, I saw some smoke off in the distance and last minute I decided not to make my turn to go home and just drive for a bit to see what is was....it turned out it was too far away and it started to disappear within a short while....

but driving down the road to go home now, I saw this beautiful creature right at the side of the road. Craziest coincidence that A) I actually had my camera right beside me in the passenger seat with my new 70-200 L already attached and B) I was driving down this particular road, one I would of never driven on if it wasn't for that smoke...

I don't think it applies to the current assignments so I just posted them here :D

Interesting but the poles and wires overwhelms the bird for me.

That's exactly why I just drive/wander around sometimes. I actually see this sight quite often (and you can probably tell from my Nature gallery :) ).

I like 3 and 4 best. The last couple (silhouettes) I don't care for.

Nice shots. You did a good job exploring the composition and artistic possibilities. The contrast of technology with nature is interesting too.
