Hi all!

I have noticed this on some of the night shots that I have taken (with flash). I live in the UAE and its extremely humid... but other pictures taken on the same night didnt have the spots. Is it something I am doing or not doing? Or is there something up with the camera.

Btw its an S50 and I have had it for 4 months now.

i think i know what you mean!

these spots are dust and water particals in the air.
it has been discussed before and there's nothing you can do about it.

it's not only a canon issue because all small compact digitals have this problem in the right circumstances, like you said where humidity is high.

it has something to do with the distance from the ccd and the flash.

a DSLR hasn't got this problem.

The flash is illuminating these dust particles in the air.

Thats why it only happens at night (or when the flash is used).

I see no reason why it wouldn't happen with a dSLR under the same conditions....

because the flash isn't as close to the lens as with an P&S

believe me i know what i'm talking about
