Hello
I need help!!!
I use Canon 10D for a year.
in the last few days I can't use the Av Tv P or M options
when I use it - the camera is busy for few seconds and nothing is capture
but I still can use the automatic shooting - portrait landscape close up etc.
these functions are working well.
thanks

Can you be more specific about what settings you are trying and what happens? Before you go to that trouble, try resetting all the settings to default. Select Clear Settings on the Menu.

thanks
I did it- I cleared all the setting and yet the Av (aperture priority) is not working
it "close" the camera it function as it's busy and than stoped it and nothing happens . so in the M (manual) option and the Tv (shutter priority)

What lens do you have on the camera and what aperture do you use in Av mode? Does the lens autofocus when you half-press the shutter? Are there any sounds/clicks at all? What if you use your lens in manual focus mode?

I'm sorry but I don't know what this means.

Glad things got sorted :) But do you know what "fixed" it?
Was it a lens communication issue? Sometimes removing the lens can solve issues.

That sounded vaguely like the mirror lockup function was enabled.
Hard to say.

Mirror lockup function is fine, if that is what you really need to use. Unfortunately, there is no warning flag when it is enabled. So, you might merrily go about shooting normally afterward, but you wonder why the camera doesn't "click" the same way that it used to.
I made myself a rule. When I enable mirror lockup, I stick a red sticky label on the back of the camera. When I disable it back to normal, I remove the label. That is just my way of remembering what I am doing.

thanks bob
your experience helps....
i'll use it
I was panic a little at first
but it did not take too long to find it
I was sure I changed my camera to the default setting
and I didn't-
the moment I checked it again I found the mistake...

Most users stumble into a little problem like that on the first or second day with a new camera. However, it is easily correctable.
