Took a couple shots of this old decrepit diamond and watch shop in Johnson City TN. Kinda ironic how it is the opposite of affluent now.
Im not sure which of these shots I like more. C&C and help me decide please.
Enjoy:

#2 works better for me. no lamp post, tighter crop on subject, sewer is gone, and the angle is a bit better. but that's just for me :)

AC, this scene is just begging for photos to be taken. It looks like there is a great deal of texture and tonal range, and a little D&B would really coax it out. Of the two, I likewise prefer the second photo as it is a closer crop that narrows onto the subject. I would like to see a photo of it head on though, with perhaps a person passing by to add human drama and scale. Just my opinion, though. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the comments BB. I still haven't gotten into D&B yet as you can tell when I do it. SOoooOOOoooo, I'm still practicing. :-D

Oh man, thats just it. That was the weird thing about this town man. It was Saturday in downtown and there was pretty much no one there AT ALL. Was extremely surreal.

yep no #2 is the one, a good subject to return and take more shots...I think it's a subject that would benefit from less contrast, a darker mood. Is it safe to go late in the day?
