ive put a gallery online that presents my foto's with flash. im getting quite a few emails saying i should not use flash.
whats the opinion on this?
im not a big fan of flash myself, really not. but if it helps presenting content ...
i also dont understand the mentality of people purposely not installing flash and closing yourself off from content on the web
any 2 cents?

I make sure I do everything else before using my flash, like open the aperture and increase the ISO. WHen that isnt enough, then I bring out the external flash and use the bounce flash technique.
I rarely ever use the built-in flash, or the external flash directly, unless I have no other choice, or I want to use it as a fill flash.

Drisley I think stefg5 was talking about Macromedia Flash as web medium to show his/her galleries.
Personally I think flash is absolutely brilliant for this, its more pleasing to browse galleries using flash, smoother transitions and overall a more professional feel to it. As long as its easy to navigate with links or buttons to move back and forth its way ahead of anything else.
For me flash is better in every way.

actionscript is a serious pain...for quick stuff i use Simple Viewer...when i finished building a somewhat functional admin for it they released one...haha, much better than mine, but oh well...
but i have been working on a gallery for a while...its far from smooth and nice like i want it to be, but I am still failry new to AS and all its wonder
some nice flash photo sites

i could post 20 more, but these were resting first in the links
something you might want to take a look at

remember, you can always run a flash detection script and if they do not have the required version of flash it will assist them in downloading it, if my mom can figure out how to isntall flash, it has to be more than easy
you can actually install it for them through the detection process, but thats frowned upon, plus that is what splash pages are for, a cool splash page is...cool :)

simple viewer uses a redirect script, if the user does not have a correct version installed it shows them this
