Morning!

As usual, planning for this day out involved nothing other than charging the batteries for the 20D and getting ruined at the Red Lion. The weather forecast promised it was going to be dry so that was all we needed.

Got there in time for breakfast only to discover that the queue for the event was about a quarter of a mile down the A20, so that put a stop to bacon and eggs. The weather indeed did stay dry for this curious event (there were some other races going on, I'll sort that out later) and gave us some good light to play with. So anyway, here's some pics of the Time Attack cars. Kit as usual is the usual and PP is limited to a bit of sharpening of those shot through that damn fence at Druids. Hurrah!

What better way to start a thread. Bring on the panning!

And finally, what better way to end a thread than with a pan, with some fire in it.

Will do some kind of nonsense gallery soon, if I can find some more shots that don't suck as much as these ones.

A nice assortment of cars and shots... can't say I'm a real fan of that pink colour on a lancer, mind you ;)

Excellent shots, the colour and IQ is astonishing! The orange Evo and the final picture really stand out for me, makes me wish we had as much motorsports action over in these parts. Did you boost the colours some or is that mostly out of camera?

1, 5 and 8 were with my Sigma 70-200 EX, the others were with my Sigma 120-300 EX, with a 1.4x TC.

I need to grab you for 5 minutes at Brands next Sunday if you're there Dave. Need to have a look at your colour settings. And talk about metering modes cos I hit factory defaults by mistake and lost all my careful set up...

Wow... that's very impressive! Do you boost your saturation from within the camera? You've got me intrigued as those are some of the most vibrant and sharp colours I have seen yet shot from a Sigma lens without any colour boost PP!

Sure mate no problem, although I doubt there will be much fiddling to be done...see below. I always use Evaluative metering as well.

Saturation, contrast and sharpness in-camera are all +1 - so nothing really to write home about.

Sigma make some lenses that have got outrageously good optics, two of which are the 70-200f2.8 EX and the 120-300f2.8 EX - never write them off! These are expensive lenses so you would expect them to perform and they do.
