Your number 1 pic looks just about like mine..... We were probably close and didn't know it! The look good. The "OOF" pic is at least a perfect click, I've got a nose cone and two tails but nothing together:D

I think #1 is the best of the series. I alos like #4, although it seems a bit soft....I say that, but my shots always look like blurry blobs in the sky...:)

On most of the rest of the passes, I only have clear blue sky!!

I agree this one is soft, I almost missed it completely, the diamond had just left and the two solo's came back the other way, it was absolutely a spray and pray shot!

Would having a C-PL filter helps to reduce the glare on fighters' body on Pic#1

I wanted to buy one before this show, but I got myself convinced that it wouldn't work well with my 70-300 IS. As I understand it, (and I"m brand new so please let me know if I'm confused) this lens rotates as it changes focal length and I would have to adjust the polarizer each time. I had enough trouble aiming and shooting!

Would having a C-PL filter helps to reduce the glare on fighters' body on Pic#1 It looks OK to me? You can make things too flat too, you know?
With the blue sky, a polarizer would help when you shot 90-degrees to the sun, but less & less as you moved away from that angle.

Good shots, I'm still sitting in the hotel here in Chesterfield, so I haven't been able to see my shots on a computer. I spent all 3 days at the show... because I had to. I'm the bald guy that was standing at the dark grey T-38 with the WM on the tail. Everyone thought it was an F-5, or F-16
I had a great time at the show, and hopefully I got some good shots. I'll see tomorrow when I get home.
Thanks everyone for coming out.

Maybe if you give your wife a 3:45 head start, she can beat you back!

Haha, she's already back home. Our daughter has school in the morning. I'm flying out here tomorrow morning around 7ish.

I was having the same problem wtih focus as the jets crossed. I finally figured out it was because I was panning from left to right and the shutter speed wasn't fast enough to stop the jet going right to left.
