Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to get some input on the type of filter (or technique) you might employ in those less than desirable hours to help prevent the highlights from being burnt out?

Thanks in advance,

Hannah.

A graduated neutral density filter will help keep the sky from burning out.
That is about it.

AFA technique goes, I would shoot raw as it gives you more leverage in dynamic range than jpg.

What cam do you have?

When I shot with S1 IS on bright days the shutter speed was too low. It was up in 1/1000 range, which is the max limit of the cam.

I'd need a neutral density filter just to be able to keep some detail in. (BTW: the aperture was lowered to 7.something)
